The UBC Boathouse offers stunning water and mountain views to create the perfect setting to pop the question!

Package Inclusions:

2-hour rental block. The 2 hours would include set up, proposal and clean up (additional hours may be added for $150/hour)
Available during office hours on weekdays, depending on availability
All venue Audio Visual Equipment (projector, screen, microphone, Smart TV)
All setup and takedown of venue products plus recycling & garbage removal following the booking
Event attendant on-site for the duration of your proposal
Usage of indoor Event Hall or outdoor Dock spaces. Use of Dock spaces is subject to availability around scheduled rowing programs, and is weather dependent. For safety, the dock is not available after the sun sets. The dock is also not available in the winter months from November to February. The Event Hall is available all year-round, depending on availability.

Below are additional fees that may apply:

Special Event Insurance	$30	Based on number of guests and no alcohol. You are welcome to simply book that insurance through us or through your own insurance provider. Should you book it on your own, we require a copy of it no later than 30 days in advance in order to waive the quoted policy.
Taxes	GST	Based on the current tax structure that is in place the date payment is due.
Refundable Damage Deposit	$300	Damage deposit is due at time of full payment. It is fully refunded after your event unless damage or other violations have occurred.

No tape, sticky substances of any kind, tacks, nails, or staples are permitted on any surface including the windows, walls, floors, art, or venue product.
No Floor Wraps
No confetti, glitter, real flower petals, fake snow, rice, or similar items are permitted to be sprinkled on venue products or floors. As an alternative to sprinkling real flower petals, we recommend the synthetic (fake) flower petals to be used as the colour doesn’t create staining. Please ensure you have a designated person to pick up the petals following the proposal. Real flower bouquets are permitted.
No bubble or smoke machines or sparklers indoors
No items may be released into the Fraser River or into the sky from our premise
No drones may be used at the facility due to our proximity to YVR.
Sparklers are not permitted in the event hall or on the dock.

Additional Decor Policies

Furniture may be brought into the venue as long as these items have felt bottoms to prevent scratching or marking on the floors.
Items such as string lights or lanterns may be hung from the lamp cages in the event hall or from the support beam.
Candles are allowed in the event hall: However please use dripless candles, or have your candles in a holder or vase of some kind to prevent wax drips or spills.

The UBC Boathouse reserves the right to deny any decor or event elements that put the facility or guest safety at risk.
