A European trained pastry chef & chocolatier, Thea (pronounced Tay-ah) has been creating dream cakes and delicious hand-made chocolates for over 15 years. Thea previously was Pastry Chef at the world-renowned Sooke Harbor House, regarded as one of the top 10 restaurants in the world, and highly-acclaimed for its exclusive use of locally harvested raw foods; Cioppino’s, with current Chef of the Year Pino Posterero; Umberto’s, ‘C’, the Vancouver Club, and several other world-class restaurants.
In 2009 Thea’s wedding cake business had grown to the level she was able to resign her post at the Vancouver Club to devote herself full-time to Sweet Thea. In 2011 Thea continued to do a limited number of beautiful wedding cakes (awarded ‘Top Designer’ honors by Wedluxe Magazine for her efforts). Busy enough to move from a home-based bakery to a new commercial space in Langley. Thea continues to wow brides with her amazing cakes, and is constantly creating new delicious treats for her happy fans. The UBC Boathouse is a wonderful location for your wedding.
