Hayley + Andrejus have our bottom jaws hitting the floor with how flawlessly unique their wedding day was! From incorporating Japanese heritage with paper flower details on their arbour and bridal bouquets, to their bridesmaids dressed in spring-coloured kimonos, and JAPADOG providing their dinner entrees… they couldn’t have done it better! This couple has living in the moment at the centre of their relationship, their wedding day not only included incredibly fun elements but the two of them enjoyed every moment! This was likely due the help of Sandy Pandher, their wedding planner who took care of running everything on their day.
We couldn’t love these two more. Emily + Saman are the most perfect fit, it’s obvious within seconds of being in their presence! Their wedding day was in the midst of the snow storms last December, so they truly had a magical winter wedding. We feel so honored that Emily and Saman chose to host their wedding day at the UBC Boathouse and that we were able to be a part of this moment in their lives.

Ashley & Jonathon’s wedding day was as unique as can be. Their decor had metallic charm and vintage touches creating a casual, elegant and romantic environment. Their floor plan was alluring as it created mingling clusters for guests and transformed the space from their ceremony to reception seamlessly creating new experiences for each event. Erin, a fun-loving Canadian, and Olly, a quick-witted fella from the UK, chose to host their international wedding at the UBC Boathouse! Planning a wedding with this couple with a sea between us was nothing short of a good-time, with multiple Skype meetings and phone calls. This couple managed to incorporate their fun personalities through the details of their wedding day and vendors that they chose to help, which created the perfect environment for their guests to connect, let loose and enjoy the crisp winter evening. They had it all, an elegant setting with the clear tent on the docks and a winter wonderland in the event hall by Umbrella Events, amazing food and beverage by Savoury Chef, and unbelievable #squadgoals with their bridal party in tow.
Congratulations Erin + Olly!

Rozalind and Kyle were married on the only gorgeous day in October 2016. Even though they were willing to get married in the rain (cue: romance movie!) they didn’t have to. The sunlight was bright and the breeze was subtle. It was such a pleasure to be a part of Rozalind’s planning process as she is a talented photographer in Kamloops, and it’s always fun to be a part of another industry professional’s special day.
“My husband Kyle actually found the UBC boathouse before he had even proposed! Whenever we had talked about where our wedding would be, I had always said that I really wanted lots of natural light and something by the water if possible! So when he proposed and we started talking about venues, he brought up the Boathouse and I was in love immediately! When we came to view the space we absolutely loved how open the hall was and how many huge windows there were that looked over the ocean! Our color palette for the wedding was mostly grey, so the industrial look of the whole outside of the building and the ceremony dock worked perfectly for us! We were set on having our ceremony outside whether it rained or not, and the staff at the UBC Boathouse were so accommodating with any questions we had and were keen to help us make outside work regardless of the weather! Thankfully we had one of the only sunny days in October and we were able to have our ceremony on the dock! It went off seamlessly from waking up in the morning, to a stunning day, to shutting the dance floor down! I think my absolute favorite moment was hearing the vows that my husband had written for me during the ceremony and our first look moment! It is so amazing to be able to hug and kiss and talk to your significant other before walking down the aisle. The whole day was more memorable and perfect than I ever could have expected.” – Rozalind

We chose Blush Wedding Photography because not only are Kristy and Ken friends, they are one of the most sought after wedding photographers in BC (and the world!) so it was a no brainer that we would have all of their talent there to capture our day!
Our hair + makeup, florals, DJ, videographer and decorator were all from Kamloops as I have a very close and personal relationship with each of them and think they are all so incredibly talented at what they do! Our day wouldn’t have been complete without all the amazing skills of all of our unbelievable vendors!
