While this event may not be the most recent, it has always been one of our favourites. We’re excited to finally unveil a blog post on Whitney and Brian’s beautiful 2013 wedding!
We asked them what led them to their big day:
“Brian and I met at work. We were both dating other people, but we became friends. Eventually both of our relationships ended and we began dating. I knew from the beginning I was going to marry him. He proposed two years later while we were in India – he waited until the very last night of our three-week trip! It was a huge surprise, as I didn’t expect him to carry a ring around India! We knew we wanted to have a Sikh ceremony as well as a traditional ceremony, and we chose to have them in the same day. The Sikh ceremony was in the morning and the traditional ceremony was in the afternoon. We chose the UBC Boathouse for the afternoon ceremony because it had everything we wanted – a beautiful view for an outdoor wedding, an open space for the reception, and the option to choose the caterer we wanted (Indian food was a must!) Our wedding day was busy, but it was amazing – the perfect day”
